GKN Ear Training Application

This application will test your ability to recognize intervals and chords by ear. In both sections you will be given either a chord or an interval and you will be asked to identify them by name. After you answer each question you will be told if your answer was correct and be given a score for how well you've done on the test over all. Both sections will give you little options to make the test a little easier.

If you are new to ear training the interval section is where you would want to start (hint: learn to sing the major scale). The chord section is a little harder but can still be fun. This little app is like having a partner to test your ear, and that can really help. My ear has gotten a little better just from making and testing this thing. Good Luck.

why do the notes tremelo? I think its more practical if the note is just played instead of having that weird tremelo with it. That would also make it easier.

Hi Lloyd,

I never said this was easy Wink But with a little time you can get a perfect score for real.

The best way to get started is to select the Intervals test. Once that test opens, before hitting the "Start" button, check the two check box at the bottom of the app. This will give you the easiest test because there will only be two notes in each test, all the notes will be in the same key and they will all be in the same octave. Starting this way is a LOT easier.

Work with it for a while you will get better and besides if it were easy to hear these distinctions in notes this tool would not be needed.

Let me know how you progress with this.

Mike
