My Musical Knowledge

Instruments I Play:

Electric GuitarYears Playing: 42Proficiency: Intermediate

My Approach to Learning and Playing:

I don´t do good with learning from tabs; prefer video and pdf.
I have a different need than most for learning guitar:
I am a disabled Veteran-USMC-Vietnam with No Voice. I know that is very weird and to tell you the truth very Lonely. But exposure to Agent Orange has wiped out half my unit and sickened the hell out of those still struggling to breathe. So I need to make the Guitar be my Voice! I try to go to a private teacher but having problems communicating with no clear path that I can see, basically he states what song do you want to learn, then it is above my ability so I never complete the song or grow.

My Musical Education:

I don´t know very much, I am trying to learn theory a bit to understand better, taking free Coursera.com courses etc.
I haven´t really found a "in all" website that I like. Jamplay took me so far then the pinky stretches of the shuffles stopped me dead in my tracks. I put down intermediate because I know all the positions of the pentatonic scale, can play basically all open, Barre chords, Major, Minor, 7th´s, 9th´s but do I know any songs...NO!

My Musical Influences:

all Classic Rock and Blues
Gary Moore, Eric Clapton, Peter Townsend, Jimmy Page

My Learning Resources:

Different internet sites, always looking, doing Google searches. I found this site by wanted to add single note picking to "The Thrill is Gone" Bm, Em, G, F# instead of just strumming or playing lead/solo notes
