My Musical Knowledge

Instruments I Play:

Electric GuitarYears Playing: 27Proficiency: Advanced

My Approach to Learning and Playing:

I analyze songs I like and figure out and try and figure out what makes me like them so much. IŽll add whatever I learn to my musical toolbox.

My Musical Education:

Studied with various local instructors from 1990-1993. Since then, IŽve taken lessons sporadically, but I come away from every lesson with a treasure trove of ideas that take MONTHS to fully use.

My Musical Influences:

I started playing the guitar after hearing The Scorpions. From there, I got into Iron Maiden, Queensryche and the like.

Today, IŽm really enjoying European power metal bands. Hammerfall is a blast to listen to, and I really like the creativity I hear in Nightwish (especially the newer albums, though I liked the more guitar-focused approach of the earlier ones).

My Learning Resources:

1. A good teacher - nothing beats one-on-one feedback.
2. Troy StetinaŽs "Speed Mechanics of Lead Guitar"
3. Guitarknowledgenet - a great help for brushing up!

It´s not a fancy museum piece: It´s a great working stiff guitar. And it stands out from the ocean of Gibsons and Fenders.

Nice gear Atilla!
A member sense 2004?
I had no Idea this site was around that long. I started playing after hearing the Scorpions too, well they were who I mostly listened to at first! Then Van Halen, Dokken, White Lion, Mr. Big, and then I discovered The big boys like Yngwie, Vinnie Moore, Eric Johnson, Jason Becker and never looked back. Well.... not true. I still sneak some retro's in when I have time!
